Mending the Relationship Between Recruiters and Candidates

At any given time,companies are busy looking for a candidate to fill a particular position.
Candidates are out there, in large numbers, all waiting for that moment when
their dream job will come knocking at their doors. The relationship between
recruiters and candidates however, is not always rosy. With Valentine’s Day
upon us and love in the air, we’ll explore the ways in which recruiters and
candidates can build bridges and keep their relationship positive.

Candidate Grievances

One of the biggest
grievances for job seekers can be when they don’t hear back about a role that
they believe they are perfect for. For the most competitive roles, recruiters
and human resource managers receive hundreds of job applications everyday and
there is no guarantee that all will receive the scrutiny that they deserve. Many
talented individuals send emails to employers but never get any response at
all. This perceived lack of engagement can cause frustration among job seekers.

To solve this

arise when well-meaning job seekers make applications on all the positions
available to increase their chances of getting hired. This makes it pretty
difficult for the recruitment team to tell what you do best. Remember, they are
looking for the best candidates for a particular post so either limit your
application to the best post for your skill-set, or speak to the recruiter
before applying to see where you might fit best.

As with all
relationships, they key to success is good communication. Whether it’s
recruiters looking at ways of better communicating with candidates, or job
seekers using the recruiter’s expertise to apply only for the best roles for
them, reaching out and making contact can solve many of the conflicts and
frustrations experienced in the job seeking process.
